Program for Students With a Severe Cognitive Impairment

SCI Program

This program serves students with a wide range of behavioral, cognitive and physical needs. Learning activities are centered on the Unique Learning System (ULS), in combination with other classroom activities, which are designed to develop the student's functional communication, fine and gross motor skills, self-care abilities and socialization needs. Community Based Instruction (CBI) also enables students to experience and learn about their community and natural environment. Student engagement and participation are promoted through the use of assistive technologies and direct support and involvement from both classroom staff and ancillary professionals.
